With regular use, ideally after each use of the knife, the sharpness will last significantly longer. This reduces the need for more intensive resharpening with coarser abrasives such as diamond or water stones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eUsing the Strop\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo use, lay the cutting edge flat on the leather. The blade is then pulled over the leather with light pressure towards the spine, so that the cutting edge points away from the direction of movement.
