Linder Super Edge 7 Joe Vogel Evo-X ATS 34: Sophisticated Bushcraft and Hunting Knife

The Linder Super Edge 7 Joe Vogel Evo-X combines Joe Vogel's Evolution knife concept, developed over more than 15 years, with the proven Super Edge handle and an elaborately fine-tuned ATS-34 blade. In collaboration with Swiss steel and knife expert Roman Kasé, the blade treatment, grind, and geometry were specifically designed for high cutting performance combined with a robust blade.

ATS 34 with special heat treatment

The 11.8 cm blade is made of Japanese ATS 34 steel and is manufactured using a special heat treatment. After quenching, it undergoes sub-zero treatment at below -80 °C before the blade is tempered. This reduces retained austenite, which is intended to contribute to increased edge retention and less burr formation during sharpening. At 60–61 HRC, the blade can still be easily resharpened with standard sharpening stones.

Sophisticated blade geometry for bushcraft and hunting

Before the cutting edge is applied, the blade is ground to zero. The subsequent hybrid of Saber and Scandi grind combines a primary grind of 9° per side with a slightly convex micro-bevel of 20° per side. This creates a geometry that is very efficient at cutting, making it suitable for both woodworking and hunting tasks. The thin blade geometry behind the cutting edge supports easy cutting, while the swedge behind the tip facilitates dressing game during hunting tasks.

Super-Ergo handle made of TPE

The 11.7 cm handle is made of durable TPE with a diamond pattern. The material provides a secure grip even with wet or sweaty hands and remains pleasantly grippy in cold weather. At the same time, it is resistant to oils, greases, and solvents, highly abrasion-resistant, and easy to clean.

Manufactured entirely in Solingen

Like the other knives in the Super Edge series, the Evo-X is manufactured entirely in Solingen. Production takes place with experienced Solingen partners using a combination of careful handcraft and modern technology. The final wet grinding is also carried out with special care so that the steel structure achieved by the heat treatment is preserved right up to the edge.
