Casström Leather Strop for Consistently Sharp Knife Blades

With the Casström Leather Strop, you can easily maintain the sharpness of your knife blade in everyday use and finely hone the edge after sharpening. Regular stropping helps keep your knives sharp longer and reduces the need for more extensive sharpening with a whetstone or diamond sharpener.

Double-Sided Leather for Various Applications

The strop features a coarse and a fine leather side. The finer side is suitable for the final honing of the edge. On the coarser side, sharpening paste can be used if desired to enhance the stropping effect.

How to Use the Strop

Lay the knife blade flat on the leather and pull it across the strop towards the spine of the knife, away from the cutting edge. Repeat this process approximately 20 times per blade side. This allows the edge to be quickly and easily retouched after use.

Handcrafted from High-Quality Leather and Oak Wood

Casström manufactures its strops from 3.5 mm thick, vegetable-tanned leather from Italy. European waxed oak serves as a sturdy core. The combination of robust wood and high-quality leather is designed for long-term use.

Field Strop or Paddle Strop

The Casström Leather Strop is available in two different versions, each tailored to a specific application.

• Field Strop: At 13.0 × 3.0 × 1.7 cm and weighing 60.0 g, it is particularly compact and lightweight. Ideal if you want to carry your strop while hiking, bushcrafting, or during other outdoor activities. Item No. 10450.
• Paddle Strop: At 28.0 × 4.5 × 3.0 cm including the handle, this version offers a larger working surface. Weighing 200.0 g, it is especially suitable for use at home or in base camp. Item No. 10460.
