Böker BFF Packlite CPM-3V: Ultralight skeleton knife with CPM-3V
The Böker BFF Packlite CPM-3V combines Lucas Burnley's minimalist design with a robust all-steel construction. With an overall length of 15.5 cm and weighing only 31.0 g, this fixed-blade knife is particularly compact and can be carried flexibly as an EDC knife, neck knife, or pendant knife.
The 6.5 cm long drop-point blade made of CPM-3V is 2.5 mm thick and hardened to 60 HRC. The powder-metallurgical tool steel from Crucible Industries is designed for exceptionally high toughness and edge stability. CPM-3V combines high resistance to chipping with good wear resistance, making it suitable for more mechanically demanding cutting tasks. However, the steel is not stainless and should be maintained accordingly when exposed to moisture.

Minimalist all-steel construction
The BFF Packlite features an open all-steel or skeletonized construction. This keeps the knife light and compact, while the design allows for various grip positions. Jimpings on the spine of the blade improve control during more precise cutting work.
The characteristic design language comes from US knifemaker Lucas Burnley. The stripped-down design focuses on the essential functions of a fixed-blade knife, making the BFF Packlite an uncomplicated companion for EDC and outdoor use.
Kydex sheath with ball chain
The knife comes with a custom-fit Kydex sheath with a ball chain. This allows the BFF Packlite CPM-3V to be worn as a neck knife or pendant knife, for example. The low weight of only 31.0 g is particularly practical if the knife is to be carried as a compact backup knife.
CPM-3V for demanding cutting tasks
CPM-3V was developed as a tool steel for applications requiring high toughness and edge durability. The high vanadium content supports the formation of hard vanadium carbides, thereby enhancing wear resistance. Powder metallurgy also creates a fine, uniform microstructure.
With a hardness of 60 HRC, the blade provides a balanced foundation for a stable and durable cutting edge. Since CPM-3V is not stainless, thorough cleaning and care of the blade are recommended after contact with moisture.
