An exclusive collaboration with history: Böker exclusively manufactured wooden handles for us from the historical oak wood of the Lüneburg bell tower – a material with around 1000 years of history.

The Lüneburg Bell Tower – From Armory to Landmark

The bell tower in the heart of the city is one of Lüneburg's oldest buildings and looks back on a turbulent past. Built between 1482 and 1483, it served in the Middle Ages as the city's armory and weapons storehouse, where armor, weapons, and military equipment were stored. The massive oak from which these knife handles are made was part of this historic building for centuries, a witness to the Hanseatic League era, when Lüneburg prospered through the salt trade. Today, the bell tower is a landmark of the city, and its centuries-old oak wood finds a new, functional purpose in these knife handles.

Our family business, which has been located in the old town of Lüneburg since 1957 , has created this unique combination of local history and craftsmanship in cooperation with Böker. The cooperation shows how traditional materials and modern knife technology can become something special – a knife that not only convinces with its functionality, but also carries a piece of Lüneburg city history within it.
