Böker Chef's Knife, Steam Engine Damascus Steel

150 years of Böker knives! That's definitely a very good reason to celebrate. And of course, we want to share this memorable anniversary with all our customers and fans. Therefore, we present to you a unique Damascus knife with a full tang. This exclusive knife is, in the truest sense of the word, a piece of living history from the Böker manufactory.

In the "old days," before electricity became standard, steam power was the main source of energy for the numerous machines in production. This centrally generated steam power was channeled across the entire factory to the various machines via large flywheels and transmission belts, thus driving them.

One of these enormous transmission wheels still stands as a memento on our company grounds, keeping alive the memory of our company's early days and the transformation we have undergone over the past century and a half. We have taken a massive piece from the shaft of this transmission wheel and use it to forge the 180-layer Damascus steel that is made for this exclusive anniversary edition by Chad Nichols.

Thus, every owner of these exclusive chef's knives holds a genuine and authentic piece of Böker history in their hands. We would like this unique way of creating this rare blade material and the efforts involved to be understood as a sign of our appreciation for our customers, who have supported us with their loyalty, devotion and enjoyment of our products for over 15 decades.

Each of these knives is equipped with a handle scale whose historical significance is hardly inferior to that of the blade: the Böker tree logo is known to originate from a huge chestnut tree that stood on our first company premises. And although this chestnut tree was felled by a thunderstorm in the early 20th century, the smoked domestic chestnut wood of the handle scale reflects the memory of the origin of the world-famous logo in an inimitable way in each individual specimen.

A unique anniversary emblem, inlaid into the shell, sets a noble accent. Each of these knives is handcrafted in our manufactory in Solingen and strictly limited to 150 copies worldwide. Delivery is with an individual serial number in a fine wooden box and with a certificate of authenticity.
