Böker DBK Bushfriend 2000 – DBK Knife

After a long wait, the time has come: The new DBK knife in cooperation with Böker is here! After the legendary DKB-Boys launched their first knife in cooperation with TRC Knives via Kickstarter in 2022 and released their budget version in cooperation with BPS Knives from Ukraine in 2023, the third attempt follows. This time in cooperation with Böker, the Böker DBK Bushfriend 2000 is aimed at the mid-range segment of outdoor knives.

The handle scales are made of high-quality Richlite, a Micarta-like material made from resin-impregnated paper, and they feel phenomenal in the hand. The steel used is 80CrV2, a steel extremely popular with knife makers for outdoor knives. Our colleagues at Varusteleka also use 80CrV2 for their successful models Jääkäripuukko and Skrama, and these knives are living proof of the quality of this carbon steel: Because 80CrV2 can be hardened relatively high (according to some sources¹ up to 64 HRC), the edge retention (depending on the degree of hardness) is very good. With a carbon content of 0.8%, 80CrV2 also retains relatively high toughness, so it doesn't break as easily as, for example, O1 or 1095, which both have a higher carbon content. The steel is also easy to sharpen – all in all, an excellent choice for a bushcrafter. The sabre grind transforms this knife into a true all-rounder, which not only performs excellently on wood but is also equally well-suited for finer cutting work such as food preparation. The knife is supplied in a high-quality leather sheath.

One thing is certain: When the DBK-Boys have their hands in the game, it will not only be good, but also damn robust.
