The Magnum Rangebuster is a lightweight slip-joint pocket knife equipped with a satin-finished 440A blade. It is opened with a nail-notch and does not lock. The rivets and liners are made of nickel silver, and the flat handle scales are made of brown Micarta. The Rangebuster is one of the classic knife designs that gained international recognition from Solingen and is valued by countless workers worldwide. American farmers know it as the Sodbuster, miners in the northern French mines as the Mineur, and Solingen workers as the Hippekniep.
