Mora Kansbol Green

The Morakniv Kansbol is a lightweight, extremely sharp, and reliable companion for any outdoor adventure – from bushcraft and camping to hunting work. The blade is made of recycled Swedish stainless steel, 2.5 mm thick, stays sharp for a long time, and is extremely robust. The ergonomic handle with soft TPE grip is secure in the hand even when wet and offers amazing comfort with any grip technique – from hammer grip to chest-lever grip. The classic polymer sheath is suitable for both left- and right-handed users, and the knife makes a satisfying click when inserted into the sheath.

With the sharp 90° spine of the blade, you can easily prepare birch bark, scrape kindling, strike fire steels, and peel carrots. What is the difference to the Mora 2000?

The Mora 2000 is the prototype of the Mora Kansbol and was launched in the mid-1990s. Unlike the Kansbol, the Mora 2000 has a slightly differently shaped and slimmer handle that tapers slightly towards the blade. The spine of the Mora 2000 blade is rounded, making it less suitable for scraping, and a ferrocerium rod cannot be struck with it. The same applies to the Mora Bushcraft Forest: here, the blade of the Mora 2000 is secured in the handle of the Mora Bushcraft.

Mora Kansbol vs. Mora Bushcraft Black

When choosing the optimal Mora knife, the comparison often falls on the Bushcraft Black and the Kansbol. Both are similarly priced, very popular in the bushcraft and outdoor scene, but differ significantly in blade geometry and handle ergonomics. Both handles are very comfortable and offer excellent grip, however, the Kansbol handle is arguably more versatile as it lacks a pre-formed finger groove. The blade of the Bushcraft Black is significantly more massive and stable, making it better suited for heavier work than the Kansbol. The latter, in turn, is a true carving and cutting champion, and thanks to the compound grind with the tapering blade tip, it is also very well suited for food preparation.

Conclusion : If you want to use your knife for rough handling and are looking for something stable and hard to break, you'll be very happy with the Bushcraft Black. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a versatile all-rounder that handles many tasks well, but is less suitable for chopping and hacking, then choose the Mora Kansbol.
