A tribute to the heritage of the Bergisches Land and beyond: The OTTER "Bergmann" unites in its design the craftsmanship traditions and the innovative spirit of the region around Solingen and is the ideal companion for everyday life. Inspired by one of the first knives from OTTER, the weaver's knife, the fine tip of the carbon blade refers to its original use in the textile and ribbon weaving mills of the Bergisches Land.
The compact, rounded handle made of deep black ebony symbolizes the coal of the Ruhr area, while the copper accents in the Fat Carbon blades are reminiscent of the strata in the coal seams. These elements, which are deeply rooted in the diverse origins of the region, merge in this handcrafted knife, which is made in Solingen, the blade city of Germany. At the IWA Knife Award 2024, the Bergmann received second place in the "Classic" category.
